For those outside Germany, the labour movement is seen through rosa spectacles. One sees the size of the unions, in particular the metal workers' union, the IG Metall, and imagines that everything is fine.
In comparison to other countries, the conditions are by no means bad. However, that is changing. And the strength of the unions should also be questioned. Incidentally, it also wrong to equate the labour movement with just the official unions ...
